Uptodate started manufacturing hot melt adhesives in the year 1991. Presently it is manufactuing hot melt adhesives and glue sticks in two separate units and a third unit is under commissioning and is expected to begin operations from November/December 2009. The company is the leading supplier of hot melt adhesives to the automobile industry in India. Most cars and two-wheelers manufactured in the country use hot melt adhesive manufactured by us. The company is the only large-scale manufacturer in India of hot melt glue sticks. Many types of glue sticks are being manufactured. We have also developed special grades of hot melt adhesives which can be sprayed and are used to replace solvent-based rubber adhesives. The company meets the requirements of standard markets of book binding, packaging, shoes, lamination, etc. The company also markets adhesive dispensing systems imported through their associates in Taiwan. An application centre has been set up in Delhi where many such machines are installed and many types of adhesives are maintained. This facility is being used by potential users of hot melt adhesive to assemble and validate their products using hot melts. The company is also exporting small quantities of hot melt adhesives to neighbouring countries. The company today is the leading manufacturer of quality hot melt adhesives in India.
