A micro inverter consists of a small box located on the back of or situated very close to a solar 위원회. Its role is to convert the DC electricity produced by a single solar 위원회.

Solar panels output Direct (DC) Current. As DC electricity cannot be used directly by common household appliances nor fed into the mains 격자; it first needs to be converted to Alternating Current (AC).

The conversion is performed by a solar 변환장치; also known as a grid tied 변환장치.
